Use TeleGuidance at the bedside

Our training video will help you better understand how to use Butterfly TeleGuidance.

Frequently asked questions.

Who can use Butterfly TeleGuidance?

Butterfly TeleGuidance can be used by any healthcare professional. It allows a trained scanner to remotely guide a novice colleague at the bedside or to remotely collaborate with a qualified peer.

Why does Butterfly TeleGuidance only work on a limited number of devices?

TeleGuidance involves streaming a video feed while imaging which can be demanding for device hardware. As a result, TeleGuidance is only currently supported on more recent Apple devices.

Can I call a colleague who does not have a Butterfly?

No, you can only call colleagues who have a Butterfly account.

What happens if the network reception is poor?

If reception is poor, you will notice a reduction in video quality, with a lower resolution on the two video feeds and potentially a lower frame rate. If the network connection is very poor, you may see the call drop or you may not be able to connect at all. TeleGuidance works well on WiFi or 4G networks.

What functions can the trained practitioner control?

The trained practitioner can control gain, depth, preset, mode and can capture images and videos.

Is TeleGuidance supported for Enterprise customers?

We are beginning to support TeleGuidance for Enterprise clients. Please contact your sales representative or support@butterflynetwork.com for more details.
